Details of XM Series Aluminum Alloy Three-Position Pneumatic Actuators:
Structural Design
Adopts a double-piston rack-and-pinion structure, which can achieve a large torque output while maintaining a relatively small volume. The three-position type realizes the control of the intermediate position through a specific mechanical device, such as mechanical braking generated by the movement of two auxiliary pistons. It can provide operating modes like 0°-45°-90° or 0°-90°-180°, and has a stroke fine-tuning capability within ±5° at the 90° position, with the ability to lock at any position.
Material Selection
- Cylinder Block: Made of high-quality aluminum alloy through extrusion forming, with the surface undergoing hard anodizing treatment or Teflon coating, featuring light weight and corrosion resistance.
- End Covers: Aluminum alloy die-cast, with the surface treated by anodic hardening or metal polyester coating.
- Pistons: Made of cast aluminum with hard anodizing treatment.
- Output Shaft: Integrally forged output shaft made of nickel-plated alloy steel, conforming to NAMUR, ISO5211, and DIN3337 standards.
- Fasteners: All fasteners are made of stainless steel.
Basic Parameters
- Air Supply Pressure: The maximum rated air supply pressure is 8bar, the minimum air supply pressure is 2.5bar. Both double-acting and single-acting pneumatic actuators can work within the pressure range of 2.5-8bar.
- Operating Temperature: The standard type uses nitrile rubber seals, suitable for temperatures ranging from -20ºC to +80ºC; the low-temperature type can adopt special seals, applicable to temperatures from -40ºC to +80ºC; the high-temperature type uses special seals according to customer requirements, with an applicable temperature range up to -15ºC to +120ºC.
- Torque Range: The torque range varies with different models. For example, the torque of XM-AT40 is 140 Nm, and the overall series torque range may be between 5 Nm and 12,992 Nm.
Connection Standards
The size of the top mounting hole conforms to VDI/VDE3845 NAMUR standards, facilitating the installation of accessories such as solenoid valves; the size of the bottom mounting hole complies with ISO5211 and DIN3337 standards, making it easy to install with valves.

- High Protection Level: The aluminum alloy shell is phosphated, with O-rings at static fit positions and skeleton oil seals at dynamic fit positions, enabling the actuator to reach an IP68 protection level.
