Explosion-proof limit switch is a special limit switch designed for flammable, explosive and other dangerous environments, which is suitable for industrial places with explosive gas, dust or vapor (such as petrochemical, coal mine, natural gas pipeline, etc.).
Core function: While detecting the position of the pneumatic actuator, the explosion-proof design (such as flameproof housing, intrinsic safety circuit) avoids the explosion caused by electric spark or high temperature to ensure the safety of equipment and personnel.
Function: Provides accurate position feedback (e.g. valve fully open/fully closed) and meets explosion-proof safety standards in hazardous areas (e.g. ATEX, IECEx, GB3836).
Core features
High safety: Through the international explosion-proof certification (such as ATEX, IECEx), in line with Ex d IIC T6 and other standards.
Environmental adaptation: corrosion resistance, dustproof and waterproof, suitable for extreme working conditions (-40ºC~80ºC).
Reliability: Non-contact design (such as magnetic or inductive) reduces mechanical wear and extends life.
Application Scenarios
Petrochemical industry: refinery, chemical plant valve control (such as combustible gas pipeline).
Natural gas transmission: Position monitoring of emergency shut-off valve in long distance pipeline.
Underground coal mine: explosion-proof control of ventilation system or conveying equipment.
Dust environment: dust explosion-proof area of grain processing and pharmaceutical factories.
Selection and installation points
Explosion-proof level matching: Select the corresponding level (such as Ex d IIB T4) according to the dangerous Zone classification (Zone 0/1/2 or Class I/II/III).
Installation specification:
Cables must meet explosion-proof requirements (such as armored cables and explosion-proof connectors).
Do not open the cover or maintain it in a dangerous environment.
Signal output: The intrinsic safety signal (4-20mA, NAMUR) or relay contact is preferred.
Maintenance requirements: Check the sealing of the shell regularly to avoid corrosion or mechanical damage.
