Working Principle

 

The XM Series double-action pneumatic actuator operates through bidirectional air supply to drive rotational motion. Compressed air enters through port A to push the dual pistons to move axially, converting linear displacement into rotational motion of the output shaft via precision rack-and-pinion meshing, enabling clockwise rotation (valve opening). When air is supplied through port B, the pistons reverse direction, driving the output shaft to rotate counterclockwise (valve closing). In case of air supply failure, the actuator maintains its current position, ensuring system stability during transient interruptions.
Structural Features

 

  • Modular Design: The cylinder block and end caps of double-action models share dimensional compatibility with spring-return variants, allowing on-site conversion by adding/removing springs. This modularity reduces spare part inventory and enhances field adaptability.
  • Standardized Interfaces: Compliant with ISO 5211 (mounting flange), DIN 3337 (drive shaft), and VDI/VDE 3845 (NAMUR top interface), ensuring seamless integration with solenoid valves, positioners, and limit switches. The standardized design guarantees interchangeability across global industrial systems.
