1. Basic structure and composition
Pneumatic flanged ball valve is a valve driven by a pneumatic actuator and consists of the following core components:
Valve body: usually made of casting or forging process, material including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, etc., high pressure and corrosion resistance.
Sphere: The core opening and closing member, with a spherical structure through the hole, rotated 90° to achieve full opening or full closing.
Seals: Commonly used polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), reinforced polytetrafluoroethylene (RPTFE) or metal seals to ensure zero leakage of the medium.
Flange connection: Both ends of the valve body have flanges, fixed by bolts and pipe flanges, easy to install and remove.
Pneumatic actuator: converts the energy of compressed air into mechanical torque, drives the valve stem and ball rotation, and is divided into single acting (spring return) and double acting (two-way air control) two types.
2. How it works
Open state: The pneumatic actuator receives the control signal (such as 4-20mA electrical signal or switching signal), the compressed air pushes the piston or gear mechanism, and drives the ball to rotate until the through hole is aligned with the pipe, and the medium flows.
Closed state: the actuator is reversed ventilated, the ball is rotated 90°, and the through hole is perpendicular to the pipeline to block the flow of the medium.
Adjustment function: Some models support partial opening adjustment, through the positioner or proportional controller to achieve flow control.
3. Core features
Fast response: The pneumatic drive has a fast opening and closing speed (usually 1-2 seconds), which is suitable for emergency cutting or high frequency operation scenarios.
High sealing: The soft sealing structure can reach VI level zero leakage, and the hard sealing is suitable for high temperature and high pressure conditions.
Harsh environment resistance: explosion-proof design (no spark), suitable for flammable, explosive, dust or wet environment.
Easy maintenance: Modular design, seals and seats can be replaced online, reducing downtime.
Automation integration: Access to DCS, PLC system, support remote control and status feedback
